"Rocks" by Miss Finley's 2nd Grade Class

Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere.
Sparkling rocks laughing so hard.
Pointy rocks falling from the hill.
Shiny rocks swimming in the sea.
Smooth rocks cheering so loud.
Rocks are in my backyard.
Rocks everywhere in the sea and in the sun.
Rocks in the store.
Rocks in the swimming pool
Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere!
ROCKS, ROCKS, ROCKS!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere.
Cool rocks rolling.
Shiny rocks laughing.
Heavy rocks clapping.
Rough rocks shooting.
Rocks are formed by fire.
Rocks move by water.
Rocks are great!
Rocks are shiny.
Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere!
ROCKS, ROCKS, ROCKS!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere.
Glittering rocks laughing.
Pointy rocks shouting.
Heavy rocks stomping.
Rough rocks kicking.
Rocks are bright and dark.
Rocks are heavy and light.
Rocks are soft and some are hard.
Rocks can be anywhere!
Rocks here, rocks there,
Rocks, rocks everywhere!
ROCKS, ROCKS, ROCKS!

"Awakening" by Jacob

It's been too long, since I last remembered happiness,
but the joys that come with living are now reappearing...
Allowing my soul to swim out of this loneliness.
Terrors, I've created are not worth fearing.

Why worry about pains that are set in stone?
I've adjusted my thought to act more like liquid.

Positive feelings are running through this body.
A contagious illness that should have no anecdotes...
are cause and affects of a life, not faulty.
So, unleash your substance and untie these ropes.

Let your mind's conscious drift and roam,
while healthy vibrations are explosive, not timid.

Smiling is something that I thought I already knew,
but all that I had was false advertisement.
When I woke this morning my orah flew,
Emotions finally shinning through the cement.

Enjoying my days, Ill appreciate earth's tone,
It's rhythm and blues seem a lot less rigid.

"I am..." by Ms. George

I am curious and determined
I wonder how big the universe actually is
I hear fall leaves crunching under my feet
I see the world's wonders through the lens of my camera
I want to be well-respected and loved
I am curious and determined

I imagine a world resembling a Monet
I feel contentment as I sit in an over-stuffed chair
I touch the ever-growing stack of work on my desk
I worry that I am not making an impact
I cry when those I love are hurting
I am curious and determined

I understand the complexity of politics
I say everyone should receive an education
I dream of a white picket fence and an ideal family
I try to avoid roller-skating and laundry
I hope for a world of devoid of genocide
I am curious and determined

"Hatred" by Ms. George

Hatred is useless
It tasts like nauseating bitterness
It sounds like the blasts of gunfire
It smells like sweat and blood
It looks like an explosion
Hatred feels like hopelessness

"Clerihew Poem" by Ms. George

Mr. Ortiz
Lost his keys
He searched and looked
They were found in a nook

"No One Can Prepare You" by Tiffany

I never knew it could hurt this bad,
I never knew I could feel this sad.

I wanted to make sense of it all,
And ended up taking a great fall.

I yearned to make it right,
I didn't give up without a fight.

I decided to jump in with both feet,
And realized I had feelings I didn't want to greet.

I tried to listen with my mind,
But had feelings I couldn't bind.

I thought I knew how I would feel,
I thought I knew how to deal.

I wanted to be true,
I went with what I knew.

I feel like crap,
Trying to re-cap.

Know that I care,
This just isn't fair.
