"Soccer" by Gabi

Basketball, volleyball, and soccer, too
The exercises and the practices we do

It ain't hard, it ain't easy like you having the flu
The coaches coach, the players play like you might, too

Ice is melting like water, take a few
When you're thirsty like me and you

Shhhhh! The game is about to start, too
But the players missed the game to go to Peru

One player is still here but he has the flu
Then someone asked him if he had the flu, but he said it ain't true

The team is back from Peru, but they came back with a Kangaroo
People looked and looked, then started laughing because the kangaroo was wearing a shoe

"Don't Blink" by Miss Cragun

You
Eyes of Blue
Throwing your head back
Laughter ripples across the room

Booming
Echoes dancing
Bright teeth flashes
Exploding smile

Snapshot
Memory engrained
Still life moving images
Played for my mind's eye

"I Wish" by Sonia

I wish I was nice
Like some of the rice
I wish I could fly
Like the birds in the sky
I wish I had a clue
About how important is Peru
I wish I was a hot superstar
So I could have the best super car

"Me and You" by Sonia

We were together, me and you
Like animals in a zoo

Me and you bought a shoe
You put it on and I did, too

Me and you said we had the flu
When we got outside, we saw the cutest view

When we were outside we saw a kangaroo
He chewed you up and I said, "Eew!"

"Stuff" by Sonia

I was looking at the sky
I thought it was very high
Then all of a sudden I saw a star
It was as bright as lights on a car.

Someday I hope I could be in a zoo
Like the animals that live there I wish I could, too
The animals smell like a shoe
That's disgusting! Eew!

"Child's Play" by Miss Cragun

Now I see you
Now I don't
Your peek-a-boo
Hides my seek

Round and round we go
Rings around the rosie
Ashes to ashes
Just I fell down

Over the river
Through the woods
Red rover red rover
No four leaf clover

Teetering or Tottering
Monkey bars and knotted ropes
Swinging on my heart strings
Creaks like rusty chains

Sun scorched slides
Splintery wood
More than just grass
Stains this spot

Sticks and stones
With broken bones
Your rubber made me glue
Game called due to rain

"Eighth Grade Comm. Arts" by Miss Cragun

Let me tell you about three of my students
They are funny but they aren't very prudent
Everyday in the hallways they parade
For each class they are frequently truant

First, I'll share about Tony
His face shows he's no phony
in the lunch line he absolutely refuses
to eat anything that was near pepperoni

Second, I'll explain about Gabe
His face he's trying to shave
as he spends hours in the mirror everyday
The girls he's preparing to stave

Last, but not least, is Ivan
His smile is never all gone
He tries to use it as a secret weapon
To sneak out of class while saying, "so long!"

"Seventh Grade Comm. Arts" by Miss Cragun

Gabi, Elvia, and Sonia
Dream and dream about guys
Each day they have new crushes
And talk about them with heavy sighs

Gabi is the most bold
Talking about wanting to kiss
con chicos y muchachos muy guapos
pero Senorita Cragun no hablo spanish

Shy, but flirty, is Elvia
In clubs she likes to dance
Swinging her hips to Reggeaton
All the boys wish for a chance

Sonia is the most reserved
She stays steady and true
Keeping her love a secret
Her cheeks turn a red hue

"Sixth Grade Comm. Arts" by Miss Cragun

Marco is a silly boy
Who uses words like a toy
Every day and every morning
Into class he comes a'storming

Anabel is a quiet girl
Whose lips are always in a curl
In our class she sits so pretty
Dreaming of her home city

Together they come each day
To learn English and pray for May
At Ms. Cragun they smile big
But Ms. Frazier they really dig!

"Ms. Frazier" by Anabel

Ms. Frazier is a really nice teacher
She always goes to the church to the preacher
She always gets to school late in the morning
Because in her house she has a lot of creatures

Ms. Frazier speaks Spanish really good
She always brings a sweater with a hood
Ms. Frazier always needs to teach Marco
By him she has always stood

Ms. Frazier teaches a Spanish club
It's more fun than sitting in a tub
A club that Marco doesn't come
He would never want to be in the club

"One Disturbing Person" by Tony

One day I had to fight with a guy named Joe
I don't know why
He's not easy as you think
When I won I walked home slow with a sigh

Another day I walked down the street
I went to the store to get some food
I heard a voice it sounded like Joe
Suddenly I heard a low voice yelling "DUDE"!

Joe said "s'up" to me
I didn't care
I kept walking out of the store
He followed me, I told him to leave, then he gave me a stare

"Winter Curse" by Tony

In the winter it's such a freeze
All of a sudden I felt a breeze
I saw snow blow away
But still I stay
I thought I was dreaming but I was not
I was just standing then I got a blood clot
I am so cold I got frost bite
I finally knew I got to get out of the snow's sight
While I was thinking I saw the sun coming out bright
I also saw a beautiful light
When I looked down I see the snow melting
I heard people belching
I saw birds finding their mate
I figured out I had to start a debate
But it is way too late
So I really wanted to get out of this state

"Great News" by Gabe

OMG I have great news
Something happened today
at 7:40 am
on the twenty-fourth of May

When I walked into school
I was happy about today
there wasn't any school
because it was a Saturday!

"My Teacher Who was a Drinker" by Gabe

My teacher who was a drinker
Was stupid, not much of a thinker
He would always come to school drunk
And have his kids in the car's trunk
He would always be mad at his class
He would love to scream at his cup of glass
He is not allowed to bring some Corona
But instead he has to bring "tuna"
He can't bring Budweiser, Vodka, or Bud Light
He can only bring "Coke", "Pepsi", or "Crystal Light"
I'll tell you more about this guy
He likes gambling, women, and getting high
Oh, I forgot he was also a smoker
He really loves to play poker
But for all he's a pretty nice dude
But when he's drunk, that changes his mood

"Flu" by Elvia

I go to school with Lou
Lou chewed a shoe with the flu

Lou went home sick with the flu
Lou threw a show at the moo

The cow threw glue at Lou
Lou got glue in her hair with a shoe

On she went mad with the flu
Sneezed and coughed at the cow, too

The cow had the flu with a moo
Cow went on a vacation to Peru

Lou sneezed and coughed at me, too
With the flu and glue on her hair with a shoe

Pay no attention to this revenge I got the flu, too
Now I went home with the flu

Lou made everyone go home with the flu
Everyone had the flu

"Soccer" by Marco

Soccer takes skills
Learning all the drills
We stretch before we play
So we don't get hurt on game day
You have to be fast
To try not to be last
You can be a jet
So you can get the ball in the net
Opponents you must trick
And get it pass the goalie Nick
The ball over him flies
And he shouts at his guys
Great players you need on your team
So you can live up to your dreams
Soccer is lots of fun
We play in the sun

"The Secret" by Anabel

I have a big secret
In the night I sing like a cricket
I always go past your house
You are tricky like a mouse
You played with my heart
You always had a start
I wanted to take you to Peru
But my big secret is that I still love you!

"My Teacher, Ms. Cragun" by Anabel

Ms. Cragun is a busy teacher
Ms. Cragun always sits in a bleacher
She does her make-up at school in the morning
Ms. Cragun is never boring
She always has alot of ideas
Ms. Cragun would love to have a daughter Maria
Ms. Cragun doesn't have any clue
That she always gives candy to you!
