I like to speak two languages
I have to speak Spanish at home
And at school I have to speak English
I like the way I speak my Spanish
I also have to speak Spanish in a school club
I like to go back and forth in speaking languages
It's hard to translate for my parents everyday
Some classes are hard because I don't understand

Do you ever combine the languages? What do you do when you don't understand the teacher? Do you just listen and try to understand or do you start thinking about other stuff? What would make it easier for you in a class where you don't understand the teacher? I am asking because next year I will be teaching at a school where a few of my students will be learning English for the VERY FIRST time! I want my students to feel welcome and be able to do what we are doing. Any ideas?
